Works About

loop

LOOP is my first collaboration with the embroidery studio Baqué Molinié. Our shared taste for sophisticated, precisely drawn assemblies, as well as our common interest in traditionnal and historical decorative arts, naturally led us to work together.

LOOP is a contemporary reinterpretation of the decorative frieze: a new form of boiserie in which embroidery becomes architectural. The central idea of this collaboration was to give embroidery— traditionally textile and flat—a third dimension, allowing it to unfold as a sculpture at the scale of architecture.

LOOP is a manifesto-like proposal, intended to be developed in multiple variations. By nature, the project is modular and adaptable in size, color, and material.

LOOP is based on a single module: a resin loop that acts both as a case and as a structure for an embroidered “serpent.” This motif is set in motion according to the millennia-old principle of interlace. Each module integrates a reflective “pearl,” which allows wall fixation while amplifying the visibility and presence of the embroidery.

Here, embroidery is not applied to an object: it creates the object.

LOOP proposes a new hybrid: an engineered textile ornament, designed and produced with the same precision as an architectural element.
