Works About

the monde n°2

Monde n° 2 is a fictional total-art project at the core of Geoffrey Hillereau’s practice. Each of his physical works originates from this imaginary architectural world, conceived as a laboratory for exploring our contemporary ability to create durable structures, meaningful ornament, and new stylistic forms at the scale of architecture and the city.

More about Monde n°2 →

corinth

Corinth begins with a simple gesture: carefully dismantling, piece by piece, one of the most emblematic orders of Western architecture—the Corinthian order

médici

Médici is a contemporary reinterpretation of the famous monumental marble vase unearthed in Florence in the 15th century.

loop

LOOP is born from a collaboration with the embroidery studio Baqué Molinié. It is a contemporary reinterpretation of the decorative frieze: a new form of boiserie in which embroidery becomes architectural

the wondergates

Unlike Saint Michael, the Archangel from the cosmogony of Monde n°2 does not slay the demon. Instead, it plants a stake into a planet and transforms it into a lollipop, diverting traditional heroic narratives toward a new mythology.

césar

Traditionally monolithic, solid, and closed, the bust here becomes an assembly of numbered plates, 3D-printed and held together by fluorescent PMMA connectors.

paw

PAW is a column-pedestal born from a change of scale and status applied to a decorative detail: a bronze lion’s paw taken from an old lamppost belonging to the Mobilier National (For collective Exhibition Les Aliénés, 2022)

rocket fabergé

Four winged cherubs, turned into cosmonauts, carry on their backs what resembles a fluorescent warhead tip

vase n°1 et n°2

Vases No. 1 and No. 2 constitute my first attempts to explicitly reintroduce a contemporary narrative into ornament. They mark the emergence of a narrative neo-ornament, in which decoration ceases to be an abstract motif and once again becomes a space for symbolic projection.

wallace rocket

Wallace Rocket is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Parisian Wallace fountain, Transformed into a techno-ornamental ship. Its dome rests on four new Caryatids, in the likeness of a renowned young Swedish environmental activist.
